Maltese entrepreneurs are thought leaders who’s known yet unrecognised drive and passion for innovation, do not also provide new solutions to some of the Island’s most pressing problems, but they also create jobs, generate economic growth and encourage creativity. In short, they leave the Maltese business community a legacy to help create and make a much more improved operational working environment and instil a much more entrepreneurial feel good factor.
These are precisely the reasons that will be celebrated this November in a very ambitious and unique gala award ceremony combining Malta’s Best in Business organisations and companies, together with the best talent and enterprising business role models in the boats and yachting industry, where over 60 best-of-the-best nominee entrepreneurs will convene for the 4th MBIBA and 2nd MIBYA gala award programme, which will gather over 500 distinguished top tier business entrepreneurs from various sectors of the Maltese business community. The winners will be announced on/about 22:00 in a still top secret five-star venue, to be announced shortly.
The awards are the annual culmination of MBR Publication’s 2018 business awards programme that distinguishes and honours the leading entrepreneurs, creators, innovators ND prime business role models who have contributed to the Maltese economic growth, have been architects of new products, services and job creation across a wide ranging business spectra. The company has been at the forefront of organising business awards in Malta for over ten years and are undisputed pioneers of branding these gala awards into an accredited prestigious and highly successful business awards programme, that are transparent and also increase the growth factor of the winners. MBR Publications have just recently successfully celebrated Malta’s Best Entrepreneur of the Year Awards, with over 400 C-Level and top business leaders attending the gala evening at Marsa Sports Club, where the Company made another significant genuine contribution to the Malta Community Chest Fund during the event; part of its CSR activity and credo.
The night-long gathering brings together for the first time this year two distinct industries- commercial, industrial and general business, with the boats and yachting industry. The awards are judged separately by fellow expert entrepreneurs or qualified business leaders, who will evaluate their individual strengths according to five criteria and eventually choose one, exceptional, overall winner in both sections. The qualities of entrepreneurship are widely recognised and celebrated, but nowhere else will you see such a thorough, precise and transparent process in Malta. Winners are evaluated by such independent judging panel, wherein each judge receives a detailed company profile, statistics, history, milestones, including confidential data and also meets the finalists in a formal unique live Q&A which occurs during the glamorous gala evening.
A study compared the financial performance of 120 award winning companies across Europe against that of non-award winners and found that the winners enjoyed sales growth 77% higher. Winning a prestigious Malta’s Best in Business Award, or an International Bots & Yachting Award will help your organisation to stand from the crowd, send a positive message to your existing customers and attract new business.

MBR Publications Ltd, together with DHL (Malta) Ltd, welcomed more than 100 guests to the event at the Castello dei Baroni business and conference centre in Wardija on Friday 20th July.
Simon Debono, Managing Director of Simon Estates, who compered the event, said the conference delivered tangible benefits around skills and compliance to transport operators in Malta and was a minefield of topical information.
“The huge success of our inaugural Shipping, Transport & Logistics B2B Conference was underpinned by a number of quality guest speakers and attendees representing employers across a diverse range of businesses operating within the important transport and logistics sector in Malta and it is a pity that no one turned up from the Ministry of Infrastructure,” he said.
“The conference provided essential, credible and current advice for anyone operating a fleet of vehicles and delivered a solid platform for the delegates to expand both its knowledge on current technological advances, particularly AI and robots, including other benefits to employers.”
Guest speaker David J. Dingli, Managing Consultant Resource Productivity Consulting Services, AND Professor with Maastricht School of Management, the Netherlands, said skills gaps could be expected due to a declining working age population in Malta and pointed to measures which could be taken to address the situation. Mr Dingli’s presentation, undoubtedly voted as the best of the event by the participants, was entitled ‘Artificial Intelligence and Supply Chain Management’.

The prestigious awards recognise, inspire and uphold creative and technical excellence in the local and international gaming industry clusters. The organisers, MBR Publications Ltd, supported by media partners, among which are Online Casino Reports, Five Star Media, Malta Business Review, The Malta Independent on Sunday, The Malta Business Weekly and Sunday Trends, bring together a diverse group of iGaming, eGaming, online and land based elite gaming players, game developers, and notable names from popular gaming culture to celebrate and advance gaming’s best achievers, as well as enhance the gaming industry position as the most immersive, challenging and inspiring form of entertainment.

Having viewed as press in person past gala awards organised by the company, I can safely say that MBR Publications Ltd truly merit mentioning, as they really deliver on what they promise and provide their audience with the best entertainment around. All gala awards I have witnessed had all the hallmarks of a lavish awards show: Live orchestra or band, singers, top quality dancers, fervent spiels, high calibre TV personalities and celebrity A-listers, great magicians, jugglers fire-eaters, and many more accomplished artists and performers.. And, there was also added benefits of spectacular fireworks displays in open-air events. George Curmi (Il Puse’) will perform on stage interacting with a different blend of modern music with DJ Pierre Cordina and singer Amber, who had represented Malta during the Eurovision Song Contest in 2015, with the song Warrior. At some point during the show, Ryan Busuttil’s MalteseMotion will take the stage together with Roxette’s RYDM Dance Company’s dancers, to surprise the audience with a unique tailor-made acrobatic dance performance of the first kind! Roving magician and illusionist Brian Role will also entertain the audience with exceptional illusions and magic. A complimentary bottle of five star Belvedere Vodka will be paced on each table served in a Silver bucket courtesy of Hansa Wines & Spirits, while free flowing wine from Delicata and Bollinger Champagne courtesy of Demajo Wines & Spirits will also be provided to all the distinguished guests attending this spectacular gala awards ceremony. The show will be hosted by TV Personality, lawyer and piano teacher Dr Thea Saliba, accompanied by surprise comedian. The show closes with a stunning fireworks display and the venue’s ideal rooftop garden setting will provide a remarkable viewing of the fireworks.

Don’t be surprised to see new footage of the introduction video, which gives the audience a taste of what is to come, and also the exclusive cartoon video mix of Queen’s ‘We are the Champions’, being broadcast toward the end, after the final award winners are announced, which shall truly surprise and wow the audience. Interesting new developments, including a more in-depth view of the event programme, are also expected to feature, blended with special colour lighting effect and sky beams.
The organisers believe that there is a different way to present these awards, and being original and different has been a major factor which distinguishes MBR Publication Ltd form the rest of the field where such events are concerned. It is because they believe to do things in a truly genuine, sincere and more emotional way, that they have created these awards.
